If I backup an encrypted database can I restore it on another server?

Yes, but when you restore the encrypted database, it will remain encrypted. You cannot remove the encryption by followingthe backup and restore procedure. Backup files are encrypted by default.

How do I make a backup of an encrypted database?

Like you normally would. However, .dbd_key files are not saved with the backup. Take extra measures to make sure you will have access to them when you need them.

How can I upgrade DbDefence?

You can upgrade within a year by simply paying the price difference. Even if you only buy a single license, you will still only need to pay the price difference in order to upgrade.
